From Our Founder

I always wanted freedom in my life, but for a long time I didn’t know what this meant. Like many others, my first attempts to find it involved chasing surface desires: gambling, alcohol, weed, girls, you name it. But after years of chasing, I was left feeling completely burnt out and spiritually empty. So on a whim, I quit my job and went on an epic solo journey to California to discover what my soul needed.

When I arrived in LA, I was feeling desperate and alone. My sister invited me to a Dance Alive class, Ride The Wave and my life changed forever. I found a loving, non-judgemental community that allowed me to release years of stored pain and connect me back to my spirit. Dance Alive and its amazing, heartfelt community showed me how when you live from your essence, and embrace discomfort, you will be a magnet for what is most aligned with your life direction. In my case: music, dance, community and flow—the Grateful Den.

I am building the Den because, in my bones, I feel that my life mission is to empower people to live authentically. I believe the key to living a fulfilled life is tapping into your nature, opening to what’s in front of you and sharing your gifts with others.

By embracing the unknown, going inside and staying committed to my mission, I have received many gifts. Many of them coming from the beautiful souls that have walked into our space.

As my mentor Mariane says, “there is no one to copy, but everyone to learn from.” Or as the Dead say….“Once in a while you’ll get shown the light. In the strangest of places if you look at it right.”
